London photo shoot with Benedicta | Gavin Conlan UK Wedding & Portrait Photographer based in Essex | www.gavinconlan.com

Here is a shoot I did with Benedicta last summer in the gorgeous area of Hoxton/Shoreditch which I thought I would share with you.

I love this area of London because it holds so many possibilities - the street art is so amazing and changes all the time.  As a photographer it's like your very own blank canvas.

All images was shot using just available light....

iPhone 4S Photography (iphoneography) edited using Instagram | Gavin Conlan UK Wedding & Portrait Photographer based in Essex | www.gavinconlan.com

Since upgrading my iphone to the 4S I've been amazed by it's camera, previously using the iphone 3G for years I couldn't believe the difference in the quality of the camera.  I've seen people on facebook and twitter posting images using the instagram iphone app and up until now I haven't gotten involved - but today was the turning point.

I absolutely loved the results it produced and now I'm REALLY hooked, it's brought a whole new vibe to my fun day to day photography I really can't wait to explore it's possibilities....

I am now planning on shooting some location portraits, using just my iphone to shoot and edit on this will really push me creatively especially with the use of light.

In the meantime here is the instagram edited iphoneography images I took today, I hope you enjoy .....

London photo shoot with Anastasia | Gavin Conlan UK Wedding & Portrait Photographer based in Essex | www.gavinconlan.com

A couple of weeks ago being the hardcore people we are we planned a little shoot around the Embankment/Southbank area of London.  It maybe wasn't the greatest idea to shoot next to the River Thames as the wind chill factor was really and I mean REALLY cold.... I think it took a couple of days just for my hands to thaw out and warm back up...

Besides from the cold and grim weather on the day we had a great laugh and managed to capture a lot of images that I love, below is a selection of images from the shoot (thank god for that warmish stairwell), I hope you enjoy the results....

All images were shot with either available light or daylight balanced video lights with occasional use of a nikon speedlight for some back lighting.

Ps... big thanks to Anastasia for braving the weather...

PPs... big thanks to ME for not moaning much...
