Adobe Lightroom 5 Released via Adobe Creative Cloud | Gavin Conlan Photographer based in Essex

Monday 10th June saw the release of latest version of the awesome photographic software Adobe Lightroom 5, I've been using Lightroom since the very start and since the first release the improvements have been off the chart.  

The big rivalry at the start (Aperture vs Lightroom) was won by LR for me, I did own a copy of Aperture but there was just something really special with LR and it soon became an integrul part of my post processing.  I've never looked back since, a big part of my processing is completed in LR these days.

New features include;

1. Advanced Healing Brush

2. Upright 

3. Radial Gradient

4. Smart Previews

5. Video Slide shows

6. Improved Photo Book Creation

I have just downloaded LR5 and moved my LR4 catalogue to LR5 the interface looks great and I can't wait to start using it.

Make your facebook business page updates appear in news feeds without using Promoted Posts | Gavin Conlan Essex Wedding Photographer | www.gavinconlan.com

Good afternoon everyone!!!

You maybe aware that facebook in it's ever changing wisdom has altered the way our business pages are being seen in news feeds, on average only 7% of your audience receive each update posted. 

Facebook now are attempting to make page owners/administrators pay for "Promoted Posts" although I quite like this idea I am against the fact that they have changed this without consulting us as users. 

Facebook has always stated that we would never have to pay for being on here and I don't see why we have to start now.

To make sure you receive my posts please do the following;

1. Go to my page Gavin Conlan Photography | Professional Image Maker | Weddings | Portraits 
2. Click on the "LIKED" button
3. Select "Get Notifications" and "Show in News Feed" and make those two options are now ticked.

You'll now receive my latest news, images, blog posts, special offers in your news feed.

The Wedding of Tilly & Jamie | Langtons House & Mount Avenue Banqueting Suite, Essex | Gavin Conlan Essex Wedding Photographer | www.gavinconlan.com

This past Friday was the wedding of my friend Jamie and his wife Tilly, I've know Jamie since our Odeon Cinema days back in the late 90's.

They had their ceremony at Langtons House in Hornchurch and their reception at the Mount Avenue Banqueting Suite in Shenfield.  I've never photographed at Langtons before but I knew I wanted to shoot something a bit different to what I've seen on the internet, the interior of the house has a beautiful staircase which I had to use and I also loved the space of the room with all it's natural light.
