Retro Glamour | Rivoli Ballroom, London | Gavin Conlan London Fashion Photographer | www.gavinconlan.com | www.londonspeedlitescene.co.uk

Back in June I attended the LSS meet up No.18 at the amazing Rivoli Ballroom in London, the location was fantastic filled with amazing interiors and beautiful pockets on natural light which really inspired me on the day.  As you'll see by the amount of images I've posted you get the idea that I had a blast on the day, these meet ups are perfect for photographers, models, make up artists and stylists so if you haven't checked out the LSS already I recommend you do so ASAP.

All the models and MUA's were provided by the London Speedlite Scene - you should check out the link below to their website.

Fashion vs. Glamour | London photo shoot | Gavin Conlan Essex Wedding & Portrait Photographer | www.gavinconlan.com | www.londonspeedlitescene.co.uk

Photography can be a lonely career at times, shooting alone, editing alone, working all hours of the day making sure your business runs smoothly while posting new imagery to your website, blog and social media sites.  At times you just need to stop everything and surround yourself with fellow professionals, it's the perfect way to talk through any issues you may have or worries and to recharge those creative juices.

The London Speedlite Scene is just that for me it's a fantastic group of Photographers/Make Up Artists/Models all networking and working together I feel seriously blessed to have found this group and be apart of it - it's full of fantastic and extremely talented people who work the arses off to achieve fantastic imagery.

Glamour vs. Fashion was my 4th meet up with the LSS crew and it was another awesome shoot - this time we had free run of a Mansion House in Hampstead.  Seriously the efforts of the Make Up Artists can't be stressed enough on these shoots, the works of art they produce are mind blowing and really do make our jobs as photographers a hell of a lot easier.

All the models were provided by Elect Model Management and MUA's by Intense Make-up Artists both agencies were formed out of London Speedlite Scene - you should check out the links below.

Also check out the fantastic video from the meet up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7E9YE6OOk0 this will give you a teaser into the world of a LSS meet up.

I use these shoots as personal challenges, to limit my lens choice and to try and produce images that are different - to work with the environment and showcase it in a different way while still shooting images that fit in with my current style.

As with my previous LSS meet ups I shoot every image with a mixture of natural available light and my daylight balanced video lights.

I hope you enjoy these images, you can view more by visiting my facebook photography page http://www.facebook.com/gavinconlanphotography - if you like the work I produce then please click on that like button to make my day.

Take care and speak soon.

Portrait Photography at Ingatestone Hall, Essex www.gavinconlan.com | www.londonspeedlitescene.co.uk

A couple of weeks ago I attended my first London Speedlite Scene meet up, I've followed the group for a while now on facebook and they put together fantastic monthly meet ups.  The Ingatestone Hall meet up was perfect for me being fairly close to where I live and by the fact that I've wanted to do a shoot there for a long time.

I honestly didn't know what to expect from the day I went there with a completely open mind and my god it was awesome, everyone made me feel really welcome and it was such a great laugh.  The LSS put so much effort into these meet ups and whether your a photographer, model or Make Up Artist/Stylist you get so much out of it - everyone was awesome....

A HUGE thank you to all the models and make up artists because without all your efforts nothing would be possible. The models were provided by Elect Model Management and MUA's by Intense Make-up Artists both agencies formed out of the London Speedlite Scene, please check out the links below;
